I have examined the accompanying Ordinance, entitled

An Ordinance to amend The Stonecutters' Island Ordinance,

1689

and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to

the Governor's Instructions

The purpose of the Amending Ordinance is to prescribe a limited distance from the shore of Stonecutters Island within

which vessels may ordinarily anchor or make fast.

Opportunity is taken to delete from the Principal Ordinance certain words the retention of which in the Ordinance has be-

-come unnecessary.
